I was born in 1976 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye and grew up on the banks of the river Seine.
My dreams were born in Paris, my father lived on rue Pigalle and had an advertising studio with a photo lab and everything you needed to draw…
My mother raised my sister and I in an apartment where every piece of furniture, every object stood out; she hunted for bargains and carefully curated them, teaching us the beauty of things.
Both of them were to pass on to me that passion for photography, staging and design.
And as a child, music provided the backdrop to a lot of my drawing. My first idols were Madonna, Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg, the Eurythmics, Lio and Daho.
Music was to be a constant source of inspiration and motivation and I finished my years of study at the Duperré School of Applied Arts in 1999 with a collection that brought together the world and language of electronic music (remix, scratch, cut, loops…). I renamed myself "cdcheers", a nod to the garage nights that were so popular at that time and the smile that emerges when we say "cheers ...", as it does before the flash of the camera.
In January 2000, I began the brand new design course at the IFM [French Institute of Fashion] where I created simple, casual fashion, imbued with the many facets of pop culture.
The magazine Numéro published one of my accessories in its "object of the month" feature in May 2001. A lucky charm-type accessory that is worn around the neck, in the shape of a Polaroid; you slide a photo that fits your mood inside it or one that remembers your loved ones.
I was a finalist in a perfume competition with the Club des Créateurs de Beauté; mine was called "opening night" and evoked the scent of Paris at night.
Photography and film are as addictive as music and I'm always walking around, looking at everything, to capture a unique combination of colours, an unexpected mood or silhouette, or the sudden inspiration provided by some cool graphics on the street or the metro…
I continued my excellent training with the multi-faceted genius that is Karl Lagerfeld (from October 2001 to November 2018), working first in licences before being put in charge of the men's collections of the Karl Lagerfeld brand itself.
His team and him taught me all the key elements required to create a global brand where everything is focused on and beyond the garment: from the lighting of the image in an advertisement to the choice of model and the soundtrack accompanying a catwalk show.
I began to understand that everything is a message, that all my passions were converging in the same place and that, once put together, they could enable me to create and illustrate unique worlds.
Mindful to achieve a certain ethical code and in search of meaning and a way of personal expression, I have also been devoting myself to an alternative fashion project called Les Interessants since 2019. It is an exercise in style that focuses on the shirt, a key piece of all my icons from David Bowie to Patti Smith, Steve Strange and the Talking Heads…
The local production of limited editions seeks to promote knowledge and expertise and all those who operate along the chain of this wardrobe essential, to ensure it is constantly reinvented.
It provides a creative setting in which the freedom and energy of my rock 'n' roll and poetic muses can express themselves and find people who love quirky and fun clothing.
As I grow my designer and freelance consultant business, I can offer you sensitive and mindful support as you build, define and evolve your creative world. This might relate to the coherence of your collections, your communication content (digital, video, photo ...) or your brand image.
I work in a very intuitive and spontaneous way. I am supported by my experience, my strong visual culture and an elaborate collection of images built over the years. I am guided by my curiosity and my ability and my determination to find the element that will make the difference.
My values are freedom, humanism and anticonformity.
They are embodied in a working method that is both meticulous and sensitive, that takes the time for reflection and the time for discussion. My aim is to enable you to move away from bland or simplistic communication so that you stand out, giving meaning and impact to your message.
It is also a meeting; please do get in touch:
